A man has been taken to hospital after he lost control of his car and crashed into power poles, leaving power lines splayed across Ferry Road.
Gold Coast police and paramedics were called to a crash southbound on Ferry Rd in Southport at about 12.40am.
A police spokesperson said a 29-year-old Mermaid Waters man had lost control of his Honda Accord, crashed into a traffic island, gutter and a pole near the intersection of Durham St.
