Short answer – mostly yes, with a “but”.
Vaping in cars is largely treated under the same laws that govern smoking cigarettes in cars.
It’s not inherently illegal, but all states and territories will enforce penalties if it interferes with the driving of the car, and if the person vaping is in the car with a minor.
In some jurisdicitions, in this context, “minor” means somebody under 16, but others increase the limit to under-18s, such as Victoria and Tasmania.
