Huge increase in Galway’s number of electric and hybrid cars over past year

The figures were revealed as The Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI) released their official new vehicle registrations statistics for October.

SIMI showed that new Diesel Electric (Hybrid) increased by 121.74% over the past year, while Petrol/Plug-In Electric Hybrid vehicles increased by 46.37%, Petrol Electric (Hybrid) cars by 2.91% and Electric vehicles by 32.63%. However, the number of new Diesel/Plug-In Electric Hybrid cars decreased by −28.00%.
