The 2024 Nissan QASHQAI e-POWER is a range-extending electric SUV with a 1000km range… masquerading as a hybrid.
Like the larger Nissan X-TRAIL e-POWER, it has electric and petrol powerplants but only the electric motor drives the car – in this case the front wheels.
That makes this small SUV quieter and smoother than most, because there’s no gearbox per se and no mechanical interruptions to power delivery, just like an EV.
