RAC chief executive Rob Slocombe is making no apologies for the inflation-exceeding hikes in insurance premium renewals that risk denting the group’s revenues as customers shop around for cheaper deals.

WA’s biggest home-grown insurer is lifting motor and home and contents insurance by an average of 15 per cent and 20 per cent respectively, blaming rising costs for reinsurance, car parts, building supplies and labour.
