Billionaire Elon Musk’s Tesla is on the brink of being overtaken by a Chinese automaker as the world’s biggest seller of electric vehicles.
A slow third quarter of sales from Tesla, which fell short of Wall Street forecasts, saw Chinese manufacturer BYD move towards taking control of the global EV crown.
BYD sold 431,603 electric vehicles in the third quarter, compared to Tesla’s 435,059.
