It costs more to insure a car than it used to.
Car insurance premiums have increased by up to 38% since 2021, Consumer NZ says, and young women have been particularly affected.
Consumer obtained car insurance quotes for four scenarios across different parts of the country: a young person with a Mazda hatchback, a middle-aged person with a Nissan Leaf, an older person with a Honda Fit and a family of four with a Ford SUV.
